Welcome to Trust Talks Counselling
Hello and welcome to Trust Talks, a person centred counselling service created to offer a welcoming, warm and safe space in which anyone can attend. We recognise that life doesn’t always go to plan and we all at some point in our lives go through difficult life experiences. Sometimes it is impossible to know where to turn.
Trust-Talks is that place to turn, when living in the light of day to day life has become too much of a struggle we would be honoured if you would allow us to sit with you in the dark. Using a non-direct approach we hope to work with you to hopefully overcome the obstacles in your life and find the resources you need for a new positive outlook on life. We are here for you, to listen, to support and to help.
Based in South Elmsall, additional areas covered for our counselling services include Ackworth, Hemsworth, Pontefract, Featherstone, Barnsley, Upton and Wakefield.
What is counselling?
Person centred counselling is a non-direct talking therapy designed and created in the 1940’s by an American psychologist Dr Carl Rogers, which he designed to work upon the belief that we as people are unique individuals in our existence and possess the inner ability to grow as people in our own way given the right conditions.
At the very centre of this approach is the belief that you are the expert on your life and only you are capable of making the right decision for you when it comes to choosing the direction in which you wish to grow.
I am not there to judge or tell you what to do, simply to be warm, accepting and honest with you, while working to understand what it means to be you in your world.
We will work on a one to one basis for 50 minutes at a time, with you setting an agenda and pace you are comfortable with. Whatever you bring to the session I will endeavour to work with it to the best of my ability because if it is important to you then it is important to me, as in the most difficult of situations we have the ability to plant roots and grow.

Fees and small print
As it is important to feel comfortable and that your therapist is a good fit, I offer a FREE 30 minute consultation by telephone, skype and upon special request in person. Whereby fees, sessions and any questions you may have can be discussed.
A cancellation procedure is in place, life happens but I do ask that if a session needs to be cancelled then 24hours notice is given prior to the session as due to my overheads I will be forced to charge for the missed session and if any breaks from therapy are required such as a holiday a weeks’ notice is required to give us time to properly prepare for such occurrence.
I too live by this cancellation policy, should I need to cancel or take a break from therapy I will endeavour to inform the client at the earliest opportunity.
When it comes to the issue of payment, I offer some concessions for students, limited means and block booked sessions but do require payment AT THE BEGINNING OR PRIOR TO OUR NEXT SESSION. Payment methods include card or cash, preferably cash. Cheques aren’t accepted.
